There is a reason why this place is famous. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is 10/10. We loved the waitress, Kaysee. She told us that the gumbo here has been made by the same man for 30 years. I got the BBQ shrimp po’boy that was more like a sweet BBQ po’boy. It’s a little oily but worth it! The apple crisp with a la mode which was AMAZING!! Definitely recommend the oyster po’boy, the gumbo, and the Ruben corned beef and the fried green tomatoes also.

Everything it’s supposed to be! Sorry for the partially eaten pic, that’s the hot sausage poboy which was surprisingly fat. Didn’t think I’d like it like that, but it was very good (and the hot sausage is made locally a couple of blocks away). The fries were outstanding. The shocker was the fried green tomatoes! Why is no one talking about this surprise party?! We went days ago, and my mouth is watering thinking about the tangy pop of flavor in every bite of those! Everything is so fresh. Food was a bit slow but well worth it. Tiny, lively place. And I can’t not mention our server Kaysee, she was lovely and took good care of us.
The food superb. Pickled fried okra is a new favorite! The bbq shrimp po-boy was out of this world good! The atmosphere warm and welcoming a real neighborhood vibe. Everyone who visits NOLA needs to stop by Luizza’s By The Track.
I visited for a New Orleans style meal during my trip! I waited a little, but they were kind enough to guide me and the food was delicious! The signature shrimp po-boy was a little salty and the fried oyster po-boy came out with oyster shells, but I enjoyed it!
One of the best gumbo I’ve ever tried. My only regret was ordering a cup instead of a bowl, but I had to leave some room for my shrimp po’boy, which was excellent. This was my first time trying it. Also, the beer being ice cold made things more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Amazing food, excellent nice server, and local/reasonable price. The BBQ shrimp is incredible, the gumbo was excellent and the fried okra was delicious (with a homemade ranch). Would strongly recommend!
Got a bowl of gumbo and the fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were amazing!!! Would highly recommend those. The gumbo was OK as well, not my favorite — was a bit on the thinner side. The service was great! It’s a small place and the tables do tend to fill up quickly, so might have a little bit of a wait.
